4/29 update:
Hello Candidates! I am emailing to check in and give some logistics for our May 18th Meet and Greet. Thank you all so much for coming! I am so excited to have so many great Democratic Candidates here in Sevier County and on the ballot. I am going to pick the speaking order for the US Senate and US House candidates from a hat during the event, so that it is fair. That’s why they are listed as 1-4 and 1-2 below. All times are approximate. Each candidate will have 5 minutes to speak. I am waiting for confirmation of attendance from Lola Brown and Kevin Jenkins. If they do not attend, we will skip them and move things along.
1:00-1:30 Check in, snack, chat
1:30-1:35 AA Welcome, pull order for speaking
1:35-1:40 US Senate 1
1:40-1:45 US Senate 2
1:45-1:50 US Senate 3
1:50-1:55 US Senate 4
1:55-2:00 US House 1
2:00-2:05 US House 2
2:05-2:10 Robin Ellison (S8)
2:10-2:15 Leslie Braddock (HD12)
2:15-2:20 AA wrap up, get involved
2:20-4:00 Meet the candidates
I tried to make it brief enough that people wouldn’t get bored and want to leave, but everyone can have a few minutes to talk. If you can’t speak that long, feel free to say what you want and move to the next person. This is a maximum, not a minimum. Please respect the other candidates and be quiet while they are speaking. You will have time to talk to people individually before and after.
We will be setting up at 12:00pm, so you can arrive any time after that to set up. We will have a table and chairs for each candidate set up along the perimeter of the room, adequately spaced so that you are not talking over each other. We will have a sign with your name and logo on the table. You can set up whatever you want in that space.
We are going to give each person a “swag bag” when they sign in. It is the size of a standard lunch bag. You can give us a card, sticker, button or whatever you want to put into them ahead of time if you want. Please get that to us as soon as you arrive so we have time to update the bags.
Please share our event and your attendance on your social media accounts. The Facebook link is: https://fb.me/e/1NxnfNePj. You can also invite people directly from that event page. I will continue to promote it on our main page and in a few friendly private groups.
We have been phone banking to all of our best Democrats and they cannot wait to meet you all.
If I’ve missed anything or you have any questions, let me know. I’m excited for all of us and look forward to a great 2024. Thanks for running!
See you all on Saturday, May 18th.

Sevier County Democratic Party’s Candidate Meet & Greet on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 1:00pm-4pm.
LeConte Auditorium, 120 Gary Wade Blvd, Sevierville, TN 37862
indoor space with lots of parking.
We are excited to bring more democratic candidates to Sevier County than ever before!
Each candidate will have a few minutes to speak and then time to mingle with those attending. We will have a table for each of you to set up with a staffer and campaign gear through-out the event, and tables set up to sit and chat with attendees. We plan to heavily promote this event online, in the press, by phone banking to our most dedicated democrats, and with nearby county parties.
Please confirm your availability so that we can begin launching those efforts right away. We hope to have our committee begin phone banking after our convention on March 16th.
Initially we had planned to partner with Jefferson County and may still do so, however, they are exploring the option of partnering with Hamblen County for an evening event so that you can cover more of East Tennessee in one day. I’ve copied Laura Mallet, the Jefferson County Democrats Chair, with this email and she would appreciate it if you would let her know if a follow up event in the evening would be feasible for you so that she can discuss the options with the Hamblen Chair and her committee at their next meeting.

Thank you for running on the Democratic ticket in the 2024 Election!
I am the Chair of the Sevier County Democratic Party. Our Voter Engagement Committee is planning a Candidate Meet & Greet/Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from about 8:30-11:30AM. We are inviting all known Democratic candidates that cover our district on the federal or state level. We have chosen this time to allow us the opportunity to invite folks for breakfast, but have the facility from until about 5pm. Please advise us if you will be able to attend and let us know if there are any issues with the time.
